Medication only helps short term. I went for acupuncture at the recommendation of a friend and could not believe the difference. I am now able to stand up straight, which had been a problem. As a registered nurse lifting is part of my job but you do not have to live with back pain. Thank you Dr. Lau for helping me alleviate this pain. Cornelia Webster, RN -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- December 13, 2010 In September, I developed problems with what I thought was severe sinus issues. After my primary and an ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist were not able to help relieve any of the pain, they said I probably had TMJ and would need to wear a device daily to mitigate the pain. At the point when I called Dr. Lau, I was unable to open my mouth and the pain was very severe radiating in my ears, head and down my neck. I had been to Dr. Lau before to treat migraines, tension and also plantar fasciitis. Dr. Lau was able to get me in for acupuncture right away. Amazingly, after one treatment, some of the pain was relieved. After the second treatment, it felt like something had been released and the pain that was left was shifting. After two more treatments, the pain totally subsided and my jaw is now usable again. Dr. Lau is a wonderful doctor. He is a very compassionate person who really listens to you when you are telling him about your symptoms. He always seems attuned to what you are not saying, also. Now, whenever I have some ailment, I always think first, would Dr. Lau be able to treat this with acupuncture? The entire staff at King's Acupuncture is incredible. My heart rate and blood pressure was at an unsafe level. I tried traditional medicine and it just didn't seem to help. I usually don't like taking medicine into my body. I was feeling frustrated at the lack of relief that I was receiving so I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried Chinese medicine. As soon as I came walking into King's Acupuncture, I felt calmer. At the beginning of March I suffered from arthritis pain in my right shoulder and left thumb, which I knew my primary doctor couldn't do anything for, but prescribe a painkiller. I took ibuprofen as well as see my chiropractor for several visits but there was no relief from the severe pain. I began seeing Dr Lau on May 25, 2010. I felt some relief after my first treatment! After five treatments I felt 80% relief of pain. The week before the first acupuncture treatment I remember describing the pain as feeling as if someone had stuck a red-hot poker in my shoulder joint. After only 6 acupuncture sessions, my pain was gone! I went from taking 800 mg. of Ibuprofen, three times a day, with very little relief to taking no ibuprofen at all. With each acupuncture treatment I felt better and better. The treatment of electro-acupuncture is so relaxing and enjoyable. It is amazing to find something that works for me and it is not drugs with harmful side effects! I would definitely recommend trying acupuncture to anyone with arthritis pain. I am so glad I did. Dawn Lukasiewicz -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 22, 2010 TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA RELIEF! Having several practicing chiropractors in my family I was readily directed to acupuncture to help relieve the pain and discomfort along with chiropractic adjustments from a chiropractor to relieve any compression issues I was having. After 72 hours of extreme pain I found relief just a few hours after my first session with Dr. Lau in conjunction with an upper cervical adjustment with a chiropractor. A few sessions later and I am completely out of pain. The only approach traditional medicine had to offer me was prescription medication to alleviate the pain...most accompanied with many various side affects. I was not looking to just cover up my symptoms; I was looking for relief as well as a solution to this problem. It is so awesome to see Dr. Lau and many other healthcare practitioners working together holistically to help so many find relief and help our bodies to heal themselves. My only wish is that All who choose a path in the healthcare field in this country would work more closely with people such as Dr. Lau and other holistic doctors and work TOGETHER to help us heal ourselves...just as our creator designed our amazing bodies to do. S.D. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 2010 Late in 2008, I developed sciatica in my left leg – walking was so painful that I had to stop every few yards to catch my breath. I tried meds and chiropractic adjustments to no avail. As a last resort, I tried acupuncture. The acupuncturist told me that it would take 6 treatments to find relief. He was right; the sciatica pain was gone and has not returned. I am no longer an acupuncture skeptic. For health problems I consider acupuncture the first resort, not the last resort. Over the past few years I have suffered with sore, very flat feet, to the extent that the front part of my feet had developed considerable numbness – almost total. It was time to return to acupuncture. I recently changed to a medical insurance that provided some coverage for acupuncture and King’s Acupuncture was a listed provider. I switched to Dr. Lau and I am glad I did. His facilities are spotless, his staff is very professional and accommodating, parking is at the door, waiting room time is minimal (his staff knows how to schedule – the first acupuncturist I went to – 1 hour waits were not uncommon). Dr. Lau is very friendly, patient and competent. After a few treatments feeling has returned to my toes. I mentioned to Dr. Lau that I had quite a bit of hearing loss in my left ear. He has been treating me and a considerable amount of hearing has returned – (I can’t believe it’s happening – better than a hearing aid). Dr Lau’s Acupuncture office is a first class operation. For many years I have occasionally suffered from a pinched nerve in my lower back, with pain that at times extends to my lower leg and foot. At that time I was losing the use of my fingers and my primary physician advised surgery on my neck. Unwilling to endure that surgery with its associated risks I sought acupuncture as an alternative. What success! After three treatments I found myself able to type rapidly and totally pain free. All these years later (now 2010) I continue to enjoy perfect use of my fingers. An orthopedic surgeon diagnosed my problem as osteoarthritis with deterioration of the bone. I went to physical therapy for 4 weeks and had absolutely no change. I will not consider surgery or injections because of my history of blood clots and allergies. I am also unable to take anti-inflammatory drugs for pain. I have not had a day without pain for the past 16 months. At the age of 62 I was not willing to give up and allow this to consume my life. I decided to research alternative treatments. After consulting with my primary physician I decided to try acupuncture, I was told I had nothing to lose. Well what I lost was the pain and discomfort. From the very first treatment there was a remarkable change. With each treatment it continued to improve. I have completed 4 out of 6 treatments. As of this moment I have absolutely no pain in my knee. I have been able to go shopping, go up and down stairs and I am able to sleep all night long without pain. I cannot explain how this works just that it does. To anyone who is leery: please, just give it a try —you will be amazed at how it will change your life.
